How Much Time does it take to get a Fingerprinting Certificate from the RCMP?
In case you have any criminal record to your name, the certification for fingerprinting takes around 4 months.
If you don’t have any criminal record, the fingerprinting certification can be done within 3 (or less) business days.
N.B.: This timetable doesn’t include mailing time via Canada Post.
What is Non-criminal Fingerprinting?
Non-criminal fingerprinting is done for verifying your identity and background. However, unlike the fingerprinting taken during an arrest case, your fingerprints are not stored anywhere. It is used for verifying whether any criminal case exists in your name.
Do I Need any Fingerprint Request Letter from CIC?
Yes, you need to have the paperwork from Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC).
